A Technical Guide to Brewing at the Limit

To prepare a cup from The Great Himalayan Tea Atelier is to enter a contract with time. High-altitude leaves are delicate; they have survived extreme UV rays and thin air. To submerge them in boiling water is to destroy the very complexity you have purchased.
Element I: The Solvent of Soul
Mountain tea is a mirror—it reflects the quality of the water it inhabits. Avoid distilled water (too flat) or hard tap water (too metallic). Seek a Soft Spring Water with a neutral pH.
WHITE & GREEN
75°C – 80°C
BLACK & MUSCATEL
85°C – 90°C
Element II: The Vessel & The Steep
We recommend thin-walled porcelain or borosilicate glass. These materials do not retain excess heat, preventing the “stewing” of delicate L-theanine oils.
The Awakening Pour water and discard immediately. This wakes the leaf from its mountain slumber.
The First Infusion 45 seconds. Releases high-floral notes and essential mountain minerals.
Subsequent Pours Add 15 seconds to each steep. Notice the flavor shift from Floral to Deep Mineral.
